Journey to the Peak
Join Shawna Emerick and Patrick Heffernan for a one month immersion that includes twelve yoga classes, using four different styles of asana (vinyasa, hatha, yin and restorative) and dynamic community to bring you on a “Journey to the Peak”. Each class will be designed and themed to prepare students on a body/mind/spirit level to access their own version of the peak posture for the month.
January Peak pose: Natarajasana - Royal Dancer
Throughout the month we’ll focus on the journey rather than the destination. By immersing yourself in these yogic practices, rituals, philosophies and community, it can inform and support how you choose to live moment by moment, step by step, on and off the mat. Each class will be designed with the intention of strengthening and lengthening the muscle groups necessary for the monthly peak pose, but also strengthening and expanding upon Self and building resilience to show up in both the practice and in the world in a bold, intentional and inspired way.
There will be three live practices weekly: one vinyasa, one hatha and an alternating yin or restorative practice (see FAQ’s below for the difference between yin and restorative!). All class dates/times are listed below. Don’t worry if you can’t practice live - you’ll have access to all the recordings (for life!) within 24 hours after they’ve been streamed.
Every Journey to the Peak participant gains access to a private FB group where community members can ask questions to Patrick and Shawna, but also to each other! Our guidelines for dynamic community will create a space for members to share their progress and reflect on the themes illuminated throughout the month. Your membership also includes one sangha/community circle for the group to come together live, where we’ll hold space to reflect on the monthly posture/theme, process what’s been challenging and celebrate the progress and growth along the journey.

He is passionate about empowering students to feel and learn the biomechanics of their own bodies and weaves a sense of humor and dharma into anatomically precise and inspired cueing. Movements of the Breath, Mind, Heart, and Soul
Shawna brings an intuitive aspect and grounded force for you to be able to dance with your own unique rhythm; whether it’s variations within a physical flow, or supporting connection to your innate Self, she creates the container for exploration and self-study. She centers each class around a Spiritual wisdom to inform everything from the movements of the body to the movements of the breath, mind, heart, and soul.
