Hatha means 'forceful' or 'willfull'. In this practice (opposite of yin) we'll work to activate the muscular structure of the body, targeting and stressing muscle groups for the purpose of building strength. Light flow as a transition will be incorporated from time to time, but generally, postures will be held 10-15 breaths, one after the next. At least 10 minutes at the end of the class will be dedicated to savasana + meditation

Yin is cool to yang's warm. It's the dark, soft, passive side of our practice that lets each of us shift our awareness inward. We'll hold postures up to five minutes at a time in order to target the yin-like tissues of the body (fascia, ligaments, joints, bones).

A weekly meditation group structured to support each practitioner regardless of where they are in their mindfulness practice. Sessions include opening introductions, brief remarks on mindfulness, community agreements and acknowledgment, 10-minute mindfulness practice, and sharing/listening based on the meditation experience/how mindfulness has, or hasn't, been showing up in your week.

In this practice (opposite of yin) we'll work to activate the muscular structure of the body, targeting and stressing muscle groups for the purpose of building strength. Light flow as a transition will be incorporated from time to time, but generally, postures will be held 10-15 breaths, one after the next. In this class we work sequentially through Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, referencing a variety of commentators to contextualize and glean the ancient wisdom offered in this revered text.  

ASANA IS CHALLENGING BUT MODIFICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE.
